Watch George Zimmerman trial live streaming online July 8, 2013 (videos, Twitter updates)

On July 8, 2013, George Zimmerman returns to the Seminole County courthouse in Sanford, Florida, where the defense continues pleading his case. Zimmerman faces second-degree murder charges for the Feb. 26, 2012, shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin. The prosecution rested their case on Friday, July 5, 2013, and the defense could possibly wrap up their case by the end of the week.

Judge Debra Nelson expected the trial to last between 2 and 3 weeks and the 8th marks the 10th day of the trial. It's very possible that deliberations could begin at the end of the week or the beginning of next week.

The prosecution has been under fire for putting on numerous witnesses that seemed to testify more for the defense then for the state. On Friday, July 5, 2013, Trayvon Martin's mother and George Zimmerman's mother both testified in regards to the voice heard screaming for help on the 911 calls. Both mothers believed that it was their child screaming out in pain and desperation on the 911 call.

The testimony promises to be interesting as it is still unclear who the defense plans to call to the stand. It is unknown if George Zimmerman will testify on his own behalf.
