|Jodi Arias appears in court on April 3, 2013|
Currently testifying for the defense is Alyce LaViolette, a domestic violence expert who is slowly painting a picture of Travis Alexander as being controlling and as Jodi Arias as being a victim. The trouble is that not many in the public believe the scenario LaViolette paints.
LaViolette has yet to address the day of the murder, but she has portrayed Travis Alexander as someone who used his spiritual authority over Jodi Arias as a form of control. She also indicated that Jodi was not completely open when writing in her journal based upon statements Arias made that Travis Alexander controlled what she wrote.
It will be interesting to see how LaViolette portrays the events that occurred on June 4, 2008, from Arias' point of view as a victim and whether the jury will be swayed by the testimony.
