Famed women's rights attorney Gloria Allred spoke out on the Jodi Arias case and specifically discussed Arias' "Battered Woman Syndrome" defense. Arias is facing the death penalty after being charged with first-degree murder for the June 4, 2008 slaying and shooting of her lover Travis Alexander. The trial is currently underway in Arizona and you may watch it live and online in the video player above when court is in session.

Speaking about the Battered Woman Syndrome defense, Gloria Allred said that Jodi Arias had an "uphill climb," though she refused to make any predictions about what a jury would ultimately decide.
Many have remarked that Arias slit Alexander's throat, stabbed him 29 times and shot him in the head. Many feel that level of violence is not necessary, even in situations of self-defense.
