It is believed Caylee Anthony was murdered on June 16, 2008. However; when Caylee Anthony's remains were located in a wooded area just blocks from her Orlando, Florida home, she was too decomposed for medical examiners to determine an exact cause of death. What drew the most suspicion in the case and caused the nation to suspect her mother in Caylee's death, was Casey Anthony's odd behavior.
Casey Anthony never showed public sorrow or indicated that she was grieving the loss and death of her two-year-old daughter. Additionally, Casey Anthony spent time with friends and her boyfriend between June 16 and Juy 15 and never revealed to anyone her daughter was missing. She failed to report Casey's disappearance for 31 days. When Casey was questioned by police, she led them on a wild goose chase and never cooperated with the investigation.
Casey Anthony's trial lasted from May 2011 until July 2011. The public believed Casey Anthony would be found guilty and she faced the death penalty. Casey Anthony was acquitted to the jeers of public spectators. To this day, Casey Anthony remains in hiding because of the public vitriol against her.
