|Jodi Arias responds to the news that for now, she has avoided the death penalty May 23, 2013|
Must Jodi Arias be put to death for justice to be served? What about serial killers who are in prison for the rest of their natural life? The self-proclaimed "Angel of Death" Donald Harvey is currently serving 28 life sentences with his possible victim count between 57 and 87 people. Serial killer and rapist Sean Vincent Lee raped, murdered and mutilated eight women in Louisiana and is serving life without the possibility of parole. Dennis Rader, also known as BTK, was given a total of 175 years in prison, he had 10 victims.
While Jodi Arias' attack was vicious and extremely gruesome, it must be asked if it makes sense that Jodi Arias would have the death penalty and serial killers such as the BTK killer, the Angel of Death Donald Harvey and Sean Vincent Lee serve their sentences in prison.
What do you think? Is death the only way for justice to be served? Do you think that because the jurors were "death qualified" that means they "have" to render a death verdict?
Do you think that they may have believed some of the mitigating factors put forth by the defense, or even were moved by Jennifer Willmott's question, "Do you kill her?" to the point that one or more simply answered, "Not me."
Is death the only way for justice to be served in the Jodi Arias trial?
